Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

You won't see many of these in your travels. From the inaugural season of the Kansas City Scouts, a team that existed in the NHL for two seasons (from 1974 to 1976), comes this rare Scouts game-worn jersey donned by former U.S. Olympian Jim McElmury. Tagged in the collar as a "Wilson (size) 48", this blue vintage durene gamer, with a small felt "1974" patch sewn on the inside hem, shows puckering on the Scouts crest and on the big double tackle twill number "2" on the back, with some slight color bleeding on the crest as well. A team repair is on the back (near the number), several unrepaired holes are on the sleeves and lower back, and on the inside elbow area is a large amount of worn material. Just an awesome gamer from a team that would become the Colorado Rockies before ultimately morphing into the New Jersey Devils. And as for McElmury, he would continue with the team when they became the Rockies in '76-77, finishing his NHL career during his second season in the Mile-High City.
