Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Always a great day when a vintage gamer shows up, like this St. Louis Blues round necker with number "19" on the back, from circa 1969-72, just a few years after the franchise came into existence. Three sewn-on patches line the inside hem of this durene beauty, with one showing it to be a "Rawlings size 50", another as "Giesler-Jorgen Sporting Goods", and a third being the washing instructions. The jersey has been shortened, which we see from the inside, but is not from the 1970-71 High School set find. The sleeves have been shortened as well. Just above the front hem is a team repair, pilling is found on the inside behind the shoulders and Blue Note crest, and a substantial amount of puckering is seen on the crest and numbers. On the left sleeve we also see a small tear on the cuff while the right sleeve contains an unrepaired hole and red paint transfer. Andre Boudrias, Terry Crisp, and Norm Dennis wore #19 in '69-70. In 1970-71 and '71-72, Jim Lorentz had #19 before being traded to the Rangers. A tremendous opportunity to own a rare vintage Blues gamer.
