Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

The great Sylvio Mantha, who patrolled the blueline for the Montreal Canadiens from 1923 to 1936, (with a 4-game stint with the Bruins during the '36-37 campaign), added three Stanley Cups, a captaincy, and a short-lived coaching stint to his resume before he finally hung 'em up for good, and for all he did for the Canadiens and for the game in general, was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1960. Classic Auctions is more than proud to offer Mr. Mantha's gold ring from his 1960 induction into the Hall, a 10K, size 6 1/2 understated beauty featuring the Hall of Fame logo on the face, and with clear and tasteful plain band. "S. Mantha 9-9-60" (the date of his induction), is engraved on the inside, with what seems to be "10K", with the overall weight of approximately 10 grams. Truly an important and historic ring, preserved in wonderful condition, and one which takes a strong magnifying glass to see the faintest of marks. Originally obtained from a member of the Mantha family, this ring comes with an LOA from Classic Auctions.
