Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
The rookie card belonging to Bruins netminder Cecil Tiny Thompson hails from the colorful and whimsical 1933 O-Pee-Chee set. Thompson played 12 seasons in the National Hockey League, first for the Boston Bruins and later for the Detroit Red Wings. A four-time Vezina Trophy winner, Thompson was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1959. He was a member of only one Stanley Cup-winning team, as a rookie in the 1928/29 season with the Boston Bruins. Thompson's rookie issue offered here has been marked by PSA with their sealed grade of NM 7, a POP-2 with just one (an 8) graded higher from 46 the company has seen.
