Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Splendid pre-war offering here pictures Ralph “Cooney” Weiland as a member of the Ottawa Senators, a team he only briefly toiled for, being traded to Detroit just nine games into that 1933-34 season. Best known for his exploits in Boston where he set a modern day record in 1929-30 with 43 goals in 44 games while winning the scoring title with 73 points, Cooney later coached Harvard University for 21 years. His #27 rookie card comes in at NM 7, one of four at that grade on the PSA Population Report, with 2 8s ranking higher from the 46 Weiland cards PSA has seen.
