Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
The cards of four legendary hockey players are technically low grade but display much better than multiple-creased examples and date back to Frank Nighbor’s 1924-25 William Patterson V-145 issue. Beauty crease-free card has evidence of once being glued and is followed chronologically by Aurele Joliat’s Dominion Chocolates (with tab) “G” card. Syl Apps’ rookie card (’36-37 OPC) appears much better than the SGC Fair 1.5 grade it received (due mainly to minor back damage), while Toe Blake’s ’37-38 OPC RC is decent, but with his name added in red ink on the front, along with red ink on the reverse.
