Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Over six decades ago is when the modern era of hockey card collecting began, with fans of gum and hockey discovering five 1951-52 Parkhurst cards in little cardboard boxes like this. This particular example, featuring Leafs' captain Ted Kennedy on the front, may have indeed originally held a Howe or Richard or other star rookie card and has been preserved in impressive condition, with a small subtle split at the edge of the back flap that folds into the back section to mention. Light edge wear, as well as light soiling of some sort on the back are also to consider, but overall, this baby will be an awesome acquisition for a wrapper/Parkhurst collection.
