Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Led by the likes of Paul Henderson, Lowell McDonald and Pit Martin, the 1962 Hamilton Red Wings of the OHA defeated the western champion Edmonton Oil Kings in 5 games to capture the coveted Memorial Cup, emblematic of junior superiority in Canada. We have a “Kenesky Regulation” wooden souvenir stick from that time, with 4 Hamilton Red Wings logos stamped on the shaft, and signed by 17 members of the winning squad including those of Henderson, Lorne Knowles, Nick Libett, trainer Harvey Meisnheimer, coach Eddie Bush, Jim Peters, John Gofton, Bob Wall and others. Most signatures have been signed with green ballpoint pen, with some in blue, with the overwhelming majority being legible and many are clear as a bell. Also included is a 10” x 12 ½” novelty photo of the Cup-winning squad set into a plastic-type display featuring team members and the towns they came from.
