Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Totally cool collection of three 1994 "Salvino and Upper Deck Authenticated" limited-edition Wayne Gretzky porcelain figurines, all signed by Gretzky, and all with their original boxes. Each figurine shows Gretz in an action pose, with similar poses of him in both his home and away L.A. Kings uniforms and the other with both arms held high. Gretzky has nicely signed the base of each in fine black marker, with the bases including attached plaques showing their limited-edition numbers and accompanying Upper deck holograms. Gretzky’s black Kings uniform base plaque reads as a limited-edition number 450 of 950 while the base plaque accompanying Gretzky in his white Kings uniform reads as 508 of 950. Both of these measure 9 ½”, and to note is one of the small posts from under the skate of the black uniform figurine has broken free with some damage to the skate and there's a chip near the skate area of the white uniform. The third Gretzky Kings figurine, measuring 12”, has had an ankle/skate reglued, with the base plaque reading as #111 of 368. All three figurines come with separate mini Easton sticks, and the original boxes are in decent shape with some edge wear to note on two of them, along with a small hole in one and an edge dent on the other, with the third showing some creasing and some water damage.
