Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
It was January 12, 1975, the Buffalo Sabres were hosting the Vancouver Canucks at the old Aud in Buffalo, and it was on this night that French Connection star Rene Robert notched his 100th goal of his career. Offered is a plaque commemorating Robert's feat, measuring 8" x 10 1/2", and which is engraved as "Rene Robert – 100th NHL Career Goal – vs, Vancouver 1-12-75", with the Sabres logo below, along with a mounted Sabres puck (which has come loose from its glue). The brass nameplate shows some scuffs, possibly from the loose puck, and the puck has some paint chipping on its logo, but everything remains nice and ready to be hung. This ’74-’75 season would see Robert enjoy his finest season in the bigs with 40 goals and 60 assists.
