Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
It would take 7 games (and a Bobby Baun broken leg in game 6) of the 1964 Stanley Cup Final, but when all was said and done, the Toronto Maple Leafs would blank the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 in game 7 of the series final to capture their third straight Cup and prove without a shadow of a doubt that the early-sixties Maple Leafs were a true powerhouse. Offered is the April 18, 1964 Detroit Olympia game 4 program, when the Leafs would tie the series at 2 games apiece, with this gem measuring 8 ½” x 11”, with all 28 pages intact and no tears, and the only marks to be found are a handwritten “1963 64” on the back cover in blue ballpoint pen. Some slight creasing in the top left corner is to note as well. Detroit would win game 5 three nights later, but the Leafs would take games 6 and 7 to once again sip from Lord Stanley’s mug.
