Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
A fantastic souvenir from the 1949 Stanley Cup final, this complete Detroit Olympia program is from the series opener, a 3-2 win for the Maple Leafs in overtime on April 8. Toronto went on to sweep the Red Wings to become the first NHL team to win the Stanley Cup in three consecutive seasons. Complete 32-page (including front and back cover) program measures just under 11" x 8 1/2". It is wonderfully preserved with the game neatly scored in blue ink on each team's respective line-up page, including Joe Klukay's winner 17:31 into the extra period. “Toronto” is printed in black ink on the upper left corner of the front cover.
