Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
It's old. Really old. Early-1900s old. But this one-piece wooden hockey stick that measures 47 inches top to bottom was made with skill and remains remarkably intact. A fine specimen indeed, free of cracks and with only normal wear with a touch of nicks and a slightly rough blade edges to note, aside from the darkening of wood which is to be expected from a hockey stick made around the same time the Wright brothers were working on flying. A stick like this can make the mind soar. Was it a Christmas gift for someone special? Was it used on lakes or ponds or streets where seldom a car was seen? Maybe someone used it to fire cow pies at a young Georges Vezina. All we know, it's a beauty, as solid as can be, and would look simply spectacular on display in a loving home.
