It has to feel great when one is chosen as most popular on a team, and such was the case for HOFer Max Bentley (ind. 1966, dec. 1984) when the "Dipsy-Doodle Dandy from Delisle" was given the Black Hawks honor for the 1945-46 season which saw the friendly fellow score 31 goals and win the Hart Trophy. This great trophy, obtained directly from the Bentley family, measures 20" high and features two players on a wood base, with the attached plaque reading "Presented by Blackhawk Sideliners S.A.C. to Max Bentley Most Popular Player 1945-46". We're including a numeric photo on CD of the trophy displayed in the Bentley home, and to note is at some point the figurines were changed, with the bottom one looking to be the one originally on top. Comes with an LOA from Classic Auctions. Condition-wise sees this old beauty as being in terrific shape, with some scratching on the wood and various minor nicks. Some tarnishing has occurred on the figurines as well, but all in all looks super and ready for a new home. An important honor from one of the all-time greats.
