Highly significant Stanley Cup finals program is from Saturday, April 16, 1949, the night the Toronto Maple Leafs made hockey history by beating the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 to sweep the series and become the first NHL team to win three consecutive Stanley Cup titles. The Leafs also set a record by winning their 9th straight game in the finals as Cal Gardner scored the Cup-winning goal at 19:45 of the 2nd period. The Leafs 3-peat matched that of the Ottawa Senators 44 years earlier. The 80-page program features Leaf star Vic Lynn pictured on the cover with a light crease down the middle and a few small edge tears, a couple of inner pages exhibit corner creases, vintage program is overall in VG/EX condition.
