Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

The Toronto Maple Leafs in 1949 became the first NHL team to win the Stanley Cup in three consecutive years. The ill-fated Bill Barilko and six deceased HOFers, including Conn Smythe, are among the 20 Maple Leafs signatures on this team-signed sheet dating from the summit of the Leafs' dynasty that won five Cups in the 1940s. Coach Hap Day has signed at the top with Broda, Bentley, Watson and Kennedy below in black ink among these signatures from either the Cup champion 1948-49 team or the following season as reigning three-time Cup champs. Barilko's blue ink autograph stands out and Smythe has also signed in blue ink on the bottom right. Awesome 8x5 sheet with fold creases and bold autographs is wonderfully preserved. From top to bottom the sheet is signed by:
Day
Juzda
Broda
Thomson
Gardner
Bentley
Boesch
Smith
Mathers
Barilko
Mackell
Watson
Timgren
Kennedy
Dawes
Meeker
Klukay
Ezinicki has signed diagonally on the right side with Smythe in blue beneath him and Mortson in black ink at the bottom.
