Amazing early image of HOF goalie George Hainsworth is front and center in this incredible Kitchener Greenshirts 1917-18 Allan Cup Champions team photo. Hainsworth, who won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens in 1930 and 1931, played his first 10 seasons in the OHA Senior League. He was 22 years old and already had four seasons with the Berlin City Seniors under his belt when he went 12-1-1 while leading Kitchener to the Allan Cup in his first of six seasons with the Greenshirts. Amazing 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" original photo featuring the Allan Cup Champion Greenshirts in sharp detail is displayed on its vintage 11 3/4" x 13 3/4" matte, which has a "British & Colonial Press" Toronto stamp on the reverse. There is a wavy diagonal crack in the photo between the second and third players from the left in the back row, as well as a couple of small gouges and marks at chest level of the two players on the left in the back row. The gray matte has various stains and the upper left corner is torn. These flaws do not diminish the display of this historic Hainsworth 1917-18 Allan Cup Champions Kitchener Greenshirts team photo.
Blue ink handwritten notations on the back indicate that the players on either side of Hainsworth in the front row are George Hiller, on the left, and Ernie Parkes. The three players on the right side of the back row are identified on the reverse are George Kargas, Frank (Snoozer) Trashinski and Otto Solomon, according to the notations.
