Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Sensational New England Whalers WHA jersey worn by veteran forward Brit Selby. Tagged in the collar as a size 48, along with washing instructions and "Gerry Crosby" tags, this white and green classic gamer has Pucky the Whale patches sewn on each shoulder, (jersey's photo-matched to Pucky's eyes), with Selby's name sewn on the back in individual green twill lettering. The round team's crest is a combination of twill and embroidered shading and wording, and shows noticeable puckering. A couple of team repairs are found on the back number "8", and also above the front hem, with three more on the right sleeve and a re-stitching job on the left sleeve. The sleeves also show pilling, red paint transfer is on the right sleeve, and a board burn on the front as well. Various marks are also scattered about this Brit Selby game-worn jersey from the WHA. Comes with Selby's signed LOA. Brit Selby joined the new kid on the block, the WHA, beginning with a brief stint with the Quebec Nordiques early in the 1972-73 campaign, and then donning the jersey of the New England Whalers where he would play 65 games, scoring 13 times and adding 29 assists along the way as the Whalers would cap this inaugural season by hoisting the Avco Cup after taking out the Winnipeg Jets four games to one.
