Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Classic purple and gold Los Angeles Kings jersey was worn by centerman Butch Goring during the 1979-80 season, a season when he would eventually wind up with the New York Islanders and hoist the first of 4 straight Stanley Cups. But Goring would first play 69 games with the Kings before leaving, donning this gamer along the way. Tagged in the collar as a "Goodman & Sons size 46", this game-worn jersey features the crown logo crest, which shows some puckering, and marks are scattered about the front, on both sleeves, around the hem, and on the back number "19". Red paint transfer is found on the red sleeve as well. The jersey has individual letters spelling "Goring" sewn across the back, and no fight strap is included inside. Goring was originally drafted by the Kings in the 1969 NHL Entry Draft and first suited up with the Southern California team during the '69-'70 season. He remained a mainstay there until he was dealt to the Islanders with less than a dozen games remaining in the spring of 1980. Comes with an LOA from Mr. Goring.
