This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
The amazing Cy Young's astounding record of 511 wins is a baseball record that will never be approached, much less matched, and the annual AL and NL awards that bear his name have made it synonymous with pitching excellence. Young was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1937 and he died in 1955. Offered is a vintage unmailed government postcard that displays a huge black ink Cy Young autograph across one blank side. Please see our online description for more details about this historic signed postcard that comes with a pair of LOAs, including a PSA/DNA auction LOA. Young pitched three no-hitters, including the first perfect game of the modern era in Boston’s 3-0 win over Connie Mack’s Philadelphia Athletics on May 5, 1904.
Young’s signature fills the entire back of the unmailed postcard which measures 3 1/4" x 5 1/2" overall. A Mike Gutierrez Authentication LOA is included along with the PSA/DNA auction LOA.
