Superb Bill Barilko 1950-51 Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup champions gold-plated brass ring is a remarkably faithful replica of the one awarded to the ill-fated defenseman and his teammates. The Maple Leafs won their sixth Cup in a 10-year span in the spring of 1951, beating the Canadiens in five games in an amazing Stanley Cup final that saw each game decided in overtime. Barilko gave Toronto its fourth Cup in five years when he beat Gerry McNeil in Game 5 at Maple Leaf Gardens for one of the most famous goals in hockey history. The talented young defenseman’s plane went missing as he returned from a fishing trip that summer. Barilko’s death was not confirmed until his body was found when the wreckage was finally located in 1962. “Maple Leafs World Champions” is spelled out in raised lettering on the blue enamel horseshoe surrounding the big shimmering stone set in the middle of the tableau, with 1950-51 at the bottom in relief. The right shank is engraved, “B. Barilko”, while “1950-51” is engraved on the left shank. This dazzling size 10 1/2 brass ring features 18-karat gold plating and is in like-new condition.
