Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

A massive Guy Lafleur banner and two of Mario Marois’ Quebec Nordiques winter coats are featured here. Guy! Guy! Guy! came full circle in Quebec City when he called it a career at the end of the 1990-91 season with the Nords after leading the junior Remparts to the Memorial Cup on his way to becoming the first overall pick by Montreal in the 1971 NHL draft. This massive 10’ x 4 1/2’ paper stock banner is remarkably light and displays the March 31, 1991 date of his final NHL game, a 4-1 win for the Nordiques over the Habs. Both of the Nordiques winter coats were originally obtained from Marois’ personal collection. Each displays Quebec’s famous stylined N hockey stick and igloo logo embroidered on the left breast. The solid blue coat has the O’Keefe logo embroidered below the Nords crest and Astro Sportswear tagging in the neck with size “44” handwritten in red ballpoint on the Dry Clean Only flag tag. The blue, red and white winter jacket has “Nordiques” spelled out in embroidered lettering on the left sleeve and Starter tagging in the neck with size XL flag tag. A great way to stay warm and show your pride as Nordiques nation comes back to life!
