Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Truly unique piece is deceased HOFer Chuck Rayner’s gold-colored chain that spells out his full name! Originally from Rayner’s personal collection, this 18” long vintage jewelry features individual letters spelling out “Charles Rayner” with clasps on both ends. There are seven links between the first and last name. Individual links separate the individual letters of both names. “Bonnie Prince Charlie”, who died in 2002, won the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s MVP in 1950 despite posting a losing record, 28-30-11, during the regular season for a New York Rangers team that went on to lose a seven-game Stanley Cup final to Detroit. Rayner posted a 2.62 goals-against-average during the 1949-50 season while recording six of his 25 NHL shutouts. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1973.
