Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
The Ottawa Senators of the Quebec Senior Hockey League are featured in this cool collection, a 1951 set of 16 team-issued individual player photos that comes with its original mailing envelope! These original prints measure 10 1/2" x 8 1/2" with player names handwritten in pencil on the top back of 13 of them, including Senators captain Bobby Copp and goalie Legs Fraser. Among the three photos that don’t have names written on the reverse is one of Jackie LeClair, who went on to win a Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1955-56. Other photos include Larry Regan, Alan Kuntz, Bob Copp, Lude Check, Eddie Emberg and Nils Tremblay, who all played in the NHL, along with the likes of Butch Stahan, Bill Robinson, Eddie Dartnell, Emile Dagenais, Buddy Helyer and Connie Tudin. Mailing envelope has a January 31, 1951 Ottawa postmark. The photos are nicely preserved overall, mostly crease-free with some handling.
