Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Fantastic 1985 Helsinki Jokerit gamer was worn by defenseman Pekka Strander in Finnish Elite League play. Awesome Euro sponsors’ laden game-worn jersey features the team’s distinctive and colorful Joker logo sewn on the front with a Fujifilm patch sewn on the right breast. Size XL and Kisa-Asa flag tags sit in the back of the neck of this lightweight white mesh affair. Rubberized blue lettering heat-screened on the front tail has not stood the test of time all that well with some material loss and cracking. Sponsor’s patches are sewn on each hip and both shoulders and sleeves, with a nice big yellow and black Peugeot patch sewn on the lower back. Rubberized lettering on the rear tail has held up better than that on the front. “Seura” is spelled out in rubberized black lettering heat-screened onto the yellow band inserts on both sleeves. Numbers on the back and both sleeves and surname letters on the nameplate are all sewn-on twill. Game wear includes a black mark on the front of the right shoulder, burn marks on the Seura sponsor’s logo on the left sleeve and an unrepaired hole below that on the white mesh.
