Finland made it to the top of the hockey world in 1995 when Ville Peltonen scored a hat trick in the IIHF world championships final to lead his country to its first gold medal in tournament history. After losing the 1994 final to Canada in a shootout, Finland climbed to the top step of the podium with a 4-1 win over the host Swedes on May 7 at Stockholm’s Globe Arena. Also included is a signed Koivu Finland jersey and an Esa Keskinen Finland jersey. The team-signed white mesh affair is a Reebok Finland jersey covered with 23 black marker signatures, most of which include their respective player’s jersey number. This un-numbered team-signed jerseys with a few stains on the front has the Warsteiner sponsor’s patches sewn on the sleeves, as do both the Koivu and Keskinen jerseys. The Koivu #11 jersey, which is signed in black marker on the front, has screened numbers and surname on a sewn-on nameplate. The Keskinen jersey has his surname screened onto the jersey and his number 9 on the back is a screened fabric affair heat-pressed over another screened “9” underneath it.
