Canadian hockey great Hayley Wickenheiser made history in 2003 when she became the first woman to score a goal in a men’s professional league. Hayley, who has won three Olympic gold medals and a silver, had two goals and nine assists in 23 games with HC Salamat, which spent the 2002-03 season in Suomi-sarja, Finland’s third-highest men’s professional league. Hayley has signed and dated “02-03” her black marker autograph on the right breast of her 2002-03 HC Salamat game-worn white jersey. The team logo on the front is screened-on as is the Suomen Telepalvelu Oy lettering just above the light blue and blue bands around the waist, as is the Varuboden logo on the rear tail. The DHL and Chiquita embroidered patches on the left breast are sewn-on. Numbers on the back and both sleeves and individual surname letters are all heat-pressed felt-like material applied directly to the jersey, as is the lower sponsors’ lettering on the rear tail and the upper sponsors’ lettering on the front tail. SAS patches on the front of both shoulders and the two patches on the right breast are rubberized and screened-on. There is a small size XL flag tag in the neck and good game wear shows in black marks above the numbers on the right sleeve which also displays solid blue paint transfer. More wear includes black marks on the left sleeve and on the left rear.
