The coach of the Soviet national team in the 1972 Canada-Russia Summit Series, Vsevolod Bobrov was a great hockey and soccer player in his own right. One of Russia’s top scorers of his era, Bobrov played soccer for the U.S.S.R. in the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki. He went on to win an Olympic gold medal in hockey with the national team at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Bobrov’s 1950s CSKA personal game-worn equipment offered includes his black leather gloves, with brown leather inserts on the knuckles of the white gloves, his brown leather elbow pads, athletic cup and one padded soccer shin guard.
