One of the greatest defensemen ever, HOFer Ray Bourque helped Team Canada reclaim top honors in elite international hockey as a member of the 1984 Canada Cup champions. Ray contributed four assists in eight games in his second Canada Cup appearance at the age of 23 as Canada bounced back from its tournament loss to the Soviets three years earlier with a thrilling semi-final win over the Russians before taking out Sweden in the final. Ray's red knit Team Canada jersey has his number 7 and surname on a nameplate in sewn-on white twill with screened team logos on the front and sleeves. Three overlapping flag tags in the neck include the special Canada Cup '84 logo, a CCM/Maska tag with size "54" added in ballpoint and a "84 07" born-on label. With a long cloth fight strap and the embroidered CCM patch with the asterisk sewn on the right rear tail, this historic international hockey game-worn jersey shows moderate use with stick marks on the sleeves as well as the screened-on white demi-leaf on the front.
