Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Collectors of 1972 Canada-Russia Series material will be excited at the sight of this ultra-scarce big poster that advertised, over in the Soviet Union, the epic eight-game "war" between NHL stars and the Soviet national team. An image of what hockey is all about - the puck - is smack dab in the middle, with the September 22nd, 24th, 26th and 28th dates of Games 4-to-8 to the left and the starting times at the bottom, below the names of the two nations. We spot some tears, paper loss, a piece of scotch tape and multiple light creases, but still rate it a fantastic Summit Series piece. Framed to approximately 26" by 36" with small pieces of broken glass in the lower left and right corners (we'd leave it just as it is), this baby deserves a special home in a big-time Canada-Russia Series shrine. The images of Phil and Paul and Yvan, along with the interior of the Luzhniki Ice Palace come flowing back to those lucky enough to be old enough to remember it all!
