Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
With Terry Sawchuk’s retired jersey banner hanging above him, goalie Jimmy Howard currently mans the Detroit Red Wings’ crease and he’s doing a stellar job. Imagine the pressure of carrying on Hockeytown’s tradition of success while manning a goal tended by the likes of the following cast of netminding legends: Normie Smith, Johnny Mowers, Harry Lumley, Glenn Hall, Roger Crozier, Chris Osgood, Mike Vernon and Dominik Hasek, not to mention Sawchuk. Talk about a weight on your shoulders! Jimmy has placed a bold black marker autograph at the top of the paddle of his Warrior game-used stick. “Howard” is stamped on the shaft which retains his tape jobs on the knob and handle that feature red gauze tape wraps between white tape ends. Jimmy’s white tape job also remains on the blade and this beauty of a signed gamer displays solid game use that includes a puck gouge on the top edge of the paddle, red goalpost paint transfer and black marks on the blade and paddle.
