The man who paved the way for all European players who followed him into the NHL, Hall of Fame defenseman Borje Salming has signed his Sher-Wood game-used stick. The legendary Swede has signed in bold black marker with his famous number 21 and his “HOF 96” notation low on the front of the shaft of this Red Wings Sher-Wood P.M.P. 7000 gamer from the tail end of his great career. “Salming” is stamped on the front of the shaft with a red marker star drawn above it and a series of numerous red marker marks below it down to the distinctive red tape wrap around the bottom of the shaft. Borje’s equally distinctive tape job remains on the knob with twisted red tape formed into a well-worn textured grip. There are various factory stamps on the lower back of the shaft and Salming’s original tape job remains on the blade, which has a nice puck gouge in the tape. Solid and crack-free gamer has nice game use as wielded by one of the greatest defensemen of his era, a trailblazer for international hockey players in North America.
