Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

It hasn’t taken long for John Tavares to prove that he was worthy of being a No. 1 pick in the NHL Draft. Cool Tavares lot features three signed pieces and a Beckett Hockey printing plate. Chosen first overall by the New York Islanders in 2009, John had a stellar junior career that included breaking Wayne Gretzky’s record for goals by a 16-year-old with 72 for the OHL Oshawa Generals in 2006-07. John has signed in bold silver paint pen across the middle of the “9” sewn on the back of his Generals jersey in blue and red double twill with the notation “Best Wishes!” across the top of the signed number. The jersey has Reebok CHL tagging in the neck with a size Adult XL flag tag, along with Reebok tags attached to the left cuff with a plastic tie. Tavares has signed in bold black marker on an 8x10 photo of himself in his #91 Oshawa Generals uniform. Cory Emmerton’s 2006 ADT Canada-Russian game-worn Reebok gloves which come with an LOA from the CHL were subsequently signed on the cuffs by John in bold silver paint pen. The gloves have nice wear on the palms which have Emmerton’s “CE” initials written in marker on both. Rounding out the lot is a Tavares cover Beckett Hockey #192 March 2007 printing plate which measures roughly 11 1/2" x 10 1/2" with a Beckett Authentic sticker applied to the left bottom.
