Finnish defenseman Janne Gronvall has signed his spectacular 1995 AHL All-Star Game Team Canada game-worn jersey. The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect made his North American pro debut with St. John’s in the 1994 AHL playoffs and spent the next two seasons with the Leafs’ AHL affiliate before returning to play in his native Finland. Gronvall, who helped Team Canada to a 6-4 win over Team USA in Providence, signed in black marker inside the rear tail above the Custom Crafted “Official American Hockey League All-Star Game January 17, 1995” stamp with “116” handwritten in white paint pen in the blue box on the right side. CCM and size 56 flag tags remain in the neck and a MasterCard sponsor’s patch is sewn on the right breast. The Providence 1995 All-Star Game patch is sewn on the left rear tail and a small AHL patch is sewn on the right rear tail, beside the embroidered CCM patch. Obviously limited game wear shows in black marks on the right sleeve.
