Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Alexei Yashin was the Ottawa Senators’ most prolific scorer during the modern franchise’s first decade. Chosen second overall by Ottawa in the 1992 NHL Draft, Alexei had 218 goals and 273 assists for 491 points in 504 games from 1993-2001. Yashin’s 1999-2000 game-issued captain’s jersey never saw duty as he sat out the entire season in a contract dispute. Alexei was coming off a sensational 1998-99 campaign when he had 94 points, finished runner-up to Pittsburgh’s Jaromir Jagr in Hart Trophy voting and was named the center on the NHL’s Second All-Star Team. Yashin signed in bold black marker vertically between the numbers of the black and red double twill “19” sewn on the back. CCM and size 60 flag tags sit in the back of the neck and the NHL 2000 patch is sewn on the right breast.
