New York Islanders Pre-Season 2003-04 Cutting Edge Sports team patch is sewn inside the rear hem of this gamer with team repairs which was recycled for forward Steve Webb. A fan favorite at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Webb spent his first seven NHL seasons with the Islanders before he was picked up on waivers by Pittsburgh early in the 2003-04 season. He appeared in five games with the Penguins before a March 8, 2004 trade returned him to the Islanders where he played his last five regular season NHL games and two more in the playoffs. A longer nameplate was removed from this game-worn jersey which has a size 54 flag tag in the back of the neck that was sewn over by the roughly sewn-on current “Webb” nameplate. Webb wore #20 in his last four seasons with the Islanders, including upon his return at the end of the 2003-04 season. The number was also worn earlier that season by left wing Eric Manlow, who played 18 games with New York, the last on February 29. A MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2003-2004 Season registry patch is sewn inside the left rear tail. Solid game wear includes a couple of team repairs on the lower right sleeve and three more on the back of the left sleeve. Both sleeves have customized cuffs. More game wear shows in black marks on the Islanders crest on the front and on the front tail and sleeves, with a black mark on the “2” on the back. There are board burns on the sleeves and on the back of the left shoulder and blue paint transfer on the right sleeve. Comes with a MeiGray Group LOA stating it is a navy 3rd regular season/Stanley Cup playoffs jersey.
