Veteran forward Donald Audette wore this red Montreal Canadiens gamer in 2002-03 as he bounced back from a horrific wrist laceration injury he suffered the previous season. Audette had 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 54 games in his first full season with the Habs in 2002-03, who acquired him from Dallas on November 21, 2001. He already had an assist to give him five points through his first five games with Montreal when he had the tendons in his forearm severed by an opponent’s skate in the Canadiens’ December 1, 2001 game against the New York Rangers. The serious injury required life-saving surgery to repair the extensive damage, yet Audette returned for the end of the regular season and went on to contribute six goals and four assists for 10 points in 12 playoff games. Audette’s 2002-03 Habs road gamer has a size 52 flag tag in the back of the neck with an obscured black marker notation to the left of the Koho tagging. MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2002-2003 Season registry patch is sewn inside the rear hem. Game wear shows in board burns on the right rear hem to the right of the NHL shield and on the sleeves which display black marks and good board burns, including a solid slash in the blue band on the left sleeve and some red paint transfer. Comes with a MeiGray Group LOA which states it is a red 2nd regular season jersey.
