Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Photo-matched Koho goalie gloves were used by Roberto Luongo with Team Canada at the 2001 World Championships and with the Panthers during the 2000-01 season. Trapper with Lefevre Pro Series tagging is matched by the V-shaped black mark on the thumb in the pocket, which also has a few other distinct black marks that show in a photo of Roberto playing for Canada in 2001 in Germany. "Luongo" is embroidered in white thread on the thumb of the blocker which has black marks that offer a match to a January 4, 2001 photo of Luongo with the Panthers, particularly a couple of distinct marks on the bottom of the second "O" and the black mark on the red leather of the top right corner. Comes with individual Panthers COAs for each glove. The COAs each state that the respective gloves were used by Luongo in 2001-02 and originally sold as such, though they were clearly used in 2000-01 and probably sold the following season. Retail stickers and tags remain on the gloves. Solid game wear in the form of black marks and wear with stick paint transfer on the palm of the hole-free blocker glove, which has wear to the leather on the corners of the bottom edge. There is also good wear to the yellow leather at the bottom right of the trapper’s pocket.
