Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

There are hammered gamers and then there are those that are destroyed! Emblematic of the ferocity of the Battle of Quebec is Dale Hunter's photo-matched 1983-84 Nordiques signed game-worn jersey from the infamous "Good Friday" playoff game against the Canadiens at the old Montreal Forum. This amazing piece of hockey history is matched to a photo of Hunter being escorted by linesman John D'Amico during the wild brawl wearing the jersey with its right front completely torn down showing the portions that were torn and put back together by the Nords' equipment staff with repairs along the front of the shoulder seam and onto the right side of the white collar. The printed photo also clearly shows the black mark on the far right side of the white band on the front. There is a 2 1/2-inch team repair on the right front just to the left of the sewn-on triple twill Nordiques crest, and another 2-inch sewing fix on the front tail. Dale signed and dated "April 20/84" with the notation "Good Friday" in black marker along the top of the "3" on the back in heat-screened white vinyl which has survived quite well throughout the jersey with some of the surname letters lifting slightly on the nameplate and a few small areas of cracking and vinyl loss. Comes with an LOA. The right sleeve has board burns with red paint transfer and huge and extensive team repairs including a long one that runs right between Dale’s number 32. More team repairs on the left sleeve. The Maska logo is embroidered on the right rear tail and the double cloth fight strap remains whole.
