Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Patriotic and absolutely spectacular late-1920s Olympics game-worn sweater is a fabulous tri-color red white and blue wool creation. If features "Olympics" spelled out in sewn-on white felt letters and a wonderfully detailed crest featuring intricate cable stitching on the front. The number "4" sewn on the back has some light reddish bleeding on the edges as do the letters on the front and the band of white wool around the chest and back. Most likely from a team from the Northern peninsula, possibly Detroit, this Roaring '20s beauty measures out to a size 36 that is 27" long from the collar to the hem around the waist. There are light brown stains on the upper left front and a team repair above the crest. Small holes on the sleeves do not diminish this wondrous wool's display.
