Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
A shoebox-like grab bag here, with mostly O-Pee-Chee cards present and led quantity-wise by over 500 from 1979-80 and some 600 from ’80-81. However, no big names or important rookie cards to be found, rather duplication of commons and minor stars, with some unmarked team checklists to note, although condition is not tiptop; handling/wear renders the cards mostly VG, VG+ and VG-EX, with some at EX. A VG-EX Don Cherry rookie card is among 150+ from ’74-75, with close to 200 from ’75-76 also in the acceptable VG, VG+, VG-EX and EX range. Lipton Soup cards (30) from ’74-75 are mostly creased but include a VG Bobby Orr, while Bobby’s double trophy-winning card (#245) from ’71-72 is a crease-free VG-EX. Five dozen ’72-73 cards include two dozen third series cards, with the rest of the box a smattering of off-condition examples from various years and including a few inserts. A sprinkling of non-sport cards, along with a few baseball cards, (’70 OPC Clemente (F) and a VG card #1 from ’73 being the mentionables), complete the inexpensive fun.
