Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
Fun batch of mostly 1960s hockey cards for collectors not too concerned about condition features several star cards and is highlighted by VG rookie cards of Stan Mikita and Derek Sanderson. A light stain and spec of paper loss on the back of an otherwise similar condition Jean Ratelle rookie lowers it, while chronologically, the group is led by ’59-60 cards of Terry Sawchuk (F-G) and Pierre Pilote (G). Similarly, nothing destined for the pro graders amongst the rest, (for the most part G, G-VG and VG), with five from ’61-62 including Hall and Worsley, (both G) and six from ’62-63 including decent-looking Hull and Mikita examples but low grade with glue-caused back damage and like a Rangers team card. Glenn Hall’s VG-EX card is the lone representative from ’63-64, while Dennis Hull and Mike Walton G-VG rookies are among eight cards from ’65-66, with Cournoyer, Henderson and Johnston from ’66-67 all at VG. A batch of (25) ’67-68 cards may be most interesting to some, with VG, VG+ and VG-EX the dominant grades. Included are Beliveau, Geoffrion and two each of Richard, Cournoyer and Vadnais RC. A lone O-Pee-Chee card is included in the total count of 54; a Beliveau in low grade due to a tape stain down the left side.
