Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
The classic pose of legendary defenceman King Clancy, which appears on numerous collectibles of the era, sure looks good surrounded by the Canadian Chewing Gum's attractive red border. PSA's mark of VG-EX 4 ups the appeal when one considers that in the history of the grading company, only three other similar Clancy cards, (two 5s and a 6), have been deemed superior to this Pop-4 example. The scarcity of intact cards from the 50-card set (the letter at the bottom could be cut-off to help spell hockey teams' names and win a home hockey game), is evidenced by PSA figures which reveal just 19 Clancy cards have ever been submitted for inspection. Trailing only kingpin Morenz in terms of importance in the coveted set, this King is destined to excite its new owner.
