Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Surfacing even less often than King Clancy rookie cards of the previous year are examples from the William Paterson Company's similar second issue, available to chocolate bar/hockey lovers in 1924-25, a season which saw the rushing Ottawa d-man score an impressive 14 goals. Low population numbers at PSA confirm the scarcity of the V145-2 cards, with just eight Clancy examples having ever been sent to the company, with this attractive crease-free job graded VG-EX 4. Clancy would go on to total nine seasons with the Senators, before spending most of the rest of his lengthy hockey life with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
