Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
Riveting full-body on-ice pose of Hall of Fame goaltender Percy LuSueur, decked out in his formidable Ottawa Hockey Club cardigan sweater, graces the front of this tempting card, from the very first hockey card set, and is in formidable, difficult-to-hope-for-nicer condition. Encapsulated and earning EX-MT+ 6.5 recognition at PSA, this example of card #2 is bettered by just one higher-ranking LuSueur card on the PSA Population Report; a NM-MT+ 8.5, with 65 total submissions as of press time. LeSueur is said to have used the same goalie stick for five years, with his Imperial Tobacco C56 rookie card here also a keeper with its captivating color tones and 6.5 label! "Peerless Percy" spent some 50 years in hockey as a player, coach, manager, columnist and broadcaster and is now poised to contribute formidably to a Hall of Fame-caliber collection.
