Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Important contributors to Montreal's unparalleled dynasty of the 1950s, Dickie Moore and Henri Richard contribute to this all-Hall of Fame trio, completed by Kenny Reardon. Moore's great-looking EX-or-better '1952-53 RC features a beauty autograph and some curious additions/corrections on the back; "Richard" is added, along with Dickie's correct date of birth, his initials and a check mark confirming his rookie season scoring stats - neat! A bold black sharpie signature graces Richard's coveted '57-58 rookie. It looks to be a crease-free VG-EX. Also slabbed authentic is Ken Reardon's Oldtime Great card (#64 - VG) from the '55-56 Parkie set.
Classic Auctions is pleased to offer an exceptional collection of autographed hockey rookie cards, all of which have been encapsulated by PSA and certified “Authentic.” An area of the hobby which has gone under-appreciated and which has tremendous growth potential is that of the signed rookie card, when one considers the comparatively miniscule amount of vintage rookie cards which feature autographs. Our consignor’s sensational stash includes a marvelous array of Hall-of-Famers and stars. The fact that the pictured players handled and autographed the cards is indeed intriguing and thought-provoking. Please note that the cards themselves are not PSA-graded and that we’ve done our best to give an accurate account of their condition, with however no returns accepted in regards to condition details, as understandably, minute grade-lowering flaws may not be visible through PSA holders. Good luck with this outstanding collection.
