The beautifully-autographed rookie cards of Frank Mahovlich and Dave Keon are highlights of this all-Maple Leafs encapsulated ensemble. The Big M's penmanship on the white background of his 1957-58 Parkhurst RC, along with Keon's on his ever-popular example from '61-62 sure look good coupled with cards free of any creases or serious flaws - nice! Also looking at least EX-ish is Fernie Flaman's signed '51-52 Parkie, while the following year's "entries" are fellow Hall-of-Famers Leo Boivin and George Armstrong. The former's card is crease-free but with light back damage, while tape stains affect the latter's, the autograph of which is graded NM-MT 8. Bob Pulford's in-demand '57-58 RC appears VG-EX with a bold thick blue sharpie auto, with Dick Duff's RC from '55-56 (VG, mis-cut back), featuring a black sharpie sig and his "#17" and "#9". Go Leafs Go!
Classic Auctions is pleased to offer an exceptional collection of autographed hockey rookie cards, all of which have been encapsulated by PSA and certified “Authentic.” An area of the hobby which has gone under-appreciated and which has tremendous growth potential is that of the signed rookie card, when one considers the comparatively miniscule amount of vintage rookie cards which feature autographs. Our consignor’s sensational stash includes a marvelous array of Hall-of-Famers and stars. The fact that the pictured players handled and autographed the cards is indeed intriguing and thought-provoking. Please note that the cards themselves are not PSA-graded and that we’ve done our best to give an accurate account of their condition, with however no returns accepted in regards to condition details, as understandably, minute grade-lowering flaws may not be visible through PSA holders. Good luck with this outstanding collection.
