Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
The penmanship of deceased Hall-of-Famers Harry "Punch" Broadbent (signed thank you note on cut cardboard) and Ernie "Moose" Johnson (small shaky sig on a 1960 Squaw Valley first day cover) begin the intrigue here, continued by three 1890s McGill College cardboard passes signed by Shirley Davidson. He was a member of the perennial Stanley Cup winning Montreal Victorias in the late 1890s and died at sea in 1907. Fine fountain pen signatures are on passes removed from a scrapbook, with former Montreal Canadiens coach Cecil Hart's bold signature similarly cut from a scrapbook page. Stirring vintage sigs!
