Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
From the season that the Montreal Canadiens established a now seemingly unbeatable record of five consecutive Stanley Cup championships comes this luscious Tom Johnson gamer, preserved in outstanding condition. With Johnson's name and number stamped on the shaft and featuring his original blade and knob tape jobs, the classic CCM features a thin even coat of shellac which has protected the 13 beautifully bold blue ballpoint autographs on one side. Maurice Richard signed just below the still intact black celluloid accent striping, while just above is where Doug Harvey took pen to wood - sweet! Then it's Beliveau and Pronovost, with Jacques Plante's sig appearing superbly alone between "Pattern Pro" and "Professional." Continuing on up are A1 signatures of Hicke, Johnson, Geoffrion, Goyette, Backstrom, Marshall, Moore and coach Blake. Solid with no apparent cracks, this beauty, from a record championship season, will be a solid addition to a Habs shrine.
