Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
The rarely-seen penmanship of Harvey Pulford, captain of the legendary Ottawa Silver Seven, is featured here, with the cut end of a famous postcard picturing the early hockey powerhouse, including the players' names in Pulford's hand, along with "Hello Bill" and "The Silver Seven". The Pulford surname matches his signature which originally appeared on the back of the postcard in question, one that we auctioned in 2012. The names of fellow HOFers written by Pulford include Westwick, Gilmour, McGee and Smith. A member of the Ottawa squad since 1893, Pulford was one of the original members elected to Hockey's Hall of Fame in 1945, five years after his death.
